Methodology, sources & corrections

LLC TrueCost is a planning estimator, not legal or tax advice. This page explains exactly what “five-year cost” means, which rules received source-level review, and what remains outside the model.

Five taxable years

The default projection covers tax years 2026–2030, not 60 months from an exact formation date.

Liability incurred

A tax is assigned to the year it relates to, even when its payment deadline falls in the next calendar year.

Current-law assumption

Future years hold the selected current rate constant. The estimate is not a prediction of future legislation.

What the estimate includes

Included when applicable

State formation and selected expedited fees, scheduled annual or biennial reports, modeled annual entity taxes, listed special formation requirements, the selected registered-agent estimate, and modeled foreign-qualification costs.

Not included

Federal, state, or local income tax; sales and payroll tax; licenses; legal or accounting advice; penalties and interest; unlisted special exceptions; and services the user did not select.
